DANUBE FIRE FESTIVAL & July Morning
Annual festival dedicated to the river festival.


This is one of the biggest summer events in the Bulgarian part of the Danube River, the culmination of the annual week of the river, during which a variety of cultural and sporting events take place.

In the evening, the quay becomes a stage for concerts, and after nightfall a light-fire-laser show illuminates the river.

Meters from the shore of the great river is located a unique place in nature and unique architectural reserve in Bulgaria - Ribarska Mahalla
(Fishing neighbourhood).

This is actually the only fishing village which has naturally differentiated along the Danube river in our country.

It is located in the northeastern part of the city along the coastal strip.

There are a total of 48 buildings in Architectural reserve "Ribarska Mahalla", each of which is a cultural monument.

"Kumpinga"

"Kumpinga"(campsite) is one of the places speacially created by the Municipality of Tutrakan for relaxation of the residents of the city as well as those of the surrounding area.

There everything is emerald green and very calm. Picturesque wooden bridges will lead you on a walk around the area.

Extensive lawn is the perfect place for fun and games for children and adults. There is a fountain, a small decorative waterfall, masonry barbecue and pavilion in which you can eat your delicious food you've prepared.

The most naughty children probably will like climbing to the house of Baba Yaga.

“The Wall”
important place for the conservation of birds

"The Wall" is rated by the international organization BirdLife International as an important place for the conservation of birds.

The reason is that there is the largest colony of bee-eaters in our country and because of that it is included in Natura 2000.

Representatives of this bird - in Lat. Merops apiaster, prefer to nest in soft loess soils, such as "The Wall", in which they can easily dig tunnels more than a meter long to incubate in them.
